Surrounded by rivers on three sides, Dhubri is known the 'Land of Rivers’. It is located on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra with Bangladesh to its west and heavily forested Garo hills and the state of Meghalaya to its east and south respectively.

Devotes from various faith throng at this religious site in the month of December to be a part of Shaheedi Gupurab. Considered as oldest mosque in Assam, the historic Rangamati Masjid is located in Dhubri. The Mahamaya Dham, another religious site dedicated to goddess Mahamaya is alsoin Dhubri.
