Known as the ‘Land of Satras’, Barpeta satra is one of the oldest satrasand is the seats of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. Besides satras like Sundariya Satra, Patbaushi Satra, Ganakkuchi Satra, BaradiSatraare also located in Barpeta.

The best thing you can do here is to relax and flow with the slow pace of life, hardly found these days. However, if you have to visit this place during the festival of Dolutsav, commonly known as Holy, you can witness the great pomp associated with this festival.
